25 Facts About Bold and Beautiful Star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood

Steffy Forrester, the character played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood on The Bold and the Beautiful, is the daughter of two B&B icons, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor (Hunter Tylo). But thanks to Steffy’s over-the-top bad girl antics, MacInnes Wood is making her own definitive mark on the show. According to the actress, Steffy “is so different from me.” Playing the role, she told an interviewer, is “rather cathartic, and it allows my alter ego to come out.” Very much her own person indeed, here are 25 fun facts about Jacqueline MacInnes Wood:

1. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood was born on April 17, 1987.

2. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

3. Wood’s exotic looks are the blended result of her French, Native American, Scottish and Brazilian ancestry.

4. When she was 18, Wood moved to Toronto, in the hope of pursuing an acting career.

5. She took acting classes at Ryerson University in Toronto and also studied at Armstrong Acting Studios and Toronto Centre for the Arts.

6. Her first professional gig was as “The Hair Girl” in a national commercial for the Canadian salon chain First Choice Haircutters.

7. It must have been fate: just a few weeks after moving to Los Angeles, the first acting audition she had was for B&B.

8. Wood made her first appearance as Steffy on B&B on June 4, 2008.

9. The character of Steffy was born onscreen in 1999 – thanks to a daytime phenomenon called SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome), Steffy was transformed into an adult just nine years later, when MacInnes Wood joined the show.

10. In 2012 and 2013, Wood was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series category.

11. In addition to working as an actor, Wood is also a disc jockey and pop singer.

12. In January, 2012 Wood released her debut single – along with a provocative music video – the dance-influenced pop tune “After Hours” (written by Chaz E. Foley, her wardrobe stylist).

13. The name she goes by in her music career is Jacqui Mac.

14. Continuing the music connection, in 2015 Wood starred in the 6-part Hulu series South Beach, about the personal and professional rivalry between two record labels in Miami. One of her co-stars on the show was Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Griffin, All My Children, ex-Tony, Guiding Light).

15. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood was on the cover of Maxim magazine’s 2013 Mini Calendar.

16. Wood is an ardent supporter of animal rights and pet rescue organizations.

17. When Wood first appeared as Steffy, the character had a fraternal twin, Phoebe, played by MacKenzie Maury. Maury left the show not long afterwards, and Phoebe was killed off.

18. While she didn’t play her own twin on B&B, in 2008 Wood played a dual role in the made-for-television thriller Nightmare at the End of the Hall.

19. Her feature film debut was in Final Destination 5 in 2011, the fifth installment of the popular horror film franchise.

20.Wood took a break from B&B in 2010 to be in Final Destination 5 – she shot a number of scenes in advance so there was no real disruption to Steffy’s storyline while she was gone.

21. Her Final Destination 5 character, Olivia, is subjected to a gruesome laser eye procedure gone terribly wrong, a fan favorite scene which was nearly as horrific for the actress as for her character. “They wanted [to use] my actual eye,” she said in an interview. “That little metal speculum went in and out of my eye like seventy times. They numbed my eye over and over and over again…it was incredibly challenging.”

22. In the 2012 pilot episode of the CW series Arrow, Wood appeared as Sara Lance, a love interest for lead character Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). (In subsequent episodes Sara was played by Caity Lotz.)

23. She also was featured in a number of primetime series, including an episode of the Charlie Sheen sitcom Anger Management in 2014.

24. In May 2013, Wood decided not to renew her contract with B&B. She remained with the show on a recurring basis and Steffy continue to appear sporadically – then in April 2015 it was announced that MacInnes Wood had signed a new contract with B&B. She made her “official” return in the episode airing May 26, 2015.

25. Her B&B character might be a work of fiction, but Wood told an interviewer that Steffi reminds her of “some of those famous girls – you know who I mean but we don’t need to name them – who somehow always end up in the tabloids every day.”
