- 1). Remove the keys from the ignition of the 2001 GMC Sierra, and lift the hood. Uninstall the two retaining pins above the headlight assembly. Remove the electrical harness at the back of the headlight assembly. Pull the headlight assembly out of the engine compartment. This will reveal the turn signal assembly.
- 2). Remove the fog lamp socket by rotating it counter-clockwise. Pull it out of the assembly. Remove the old bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out. If you twist the bulb while pulling it out of the socket, you might inadvertently damage the socket. Use a clean cloth to install the replacement 880-type bulb, and place the socket back into the assembly. Rotate it clockwise to secure it.
- 3). Place the headlight assembly back into the vehicle. Reattach the electrical harness, and reinstall the two retaining pins. Close the hood.
