Symptoms of Anxiety Attacks - The First Step Toward Controlling Them

Symptoms of anxiety attacks can include any feeling that leads one to believe he/she is sick.
In fact, usually these feelings lead the sufferer to believe there is some sort of dire health emergency looming in his or her life.
These feelings or sensations are so intense, anxiety sufferers are usually convinced they are having a stroke or a heart attack or some other very serious event.
How can we recognize these feelings are being conjured up by anxiety and not true medical emergencies and how can we prevent them from occurring? These are questions we will look at in this article.
First of all, I cannot tell you that you are in good health.
Only your doctor can do this.
So, if you have chest pains or you feel confused and dizzy, make sure you discuss these things with a health practitioner.
However, I can tell you once your doctor has given you a clean bill of health you can still feel my symptoms of serious events that are anxiety related and not truly related to physical problems per se.
The problem with anxiety is it amplifies the seriousness of everything.
Anxiety is what can make a sad event in one's life turn into depression.
Anxiety is what can turn a scary event in one's life into a phobia.
This phobia, when it is something that the sufferer is convinced will not happen outside of his or her home, can turn into agoraphobia.
Agoraphobia is a condition where people are afraid to leave their houses altogether.
Once the anxiety sufferer is reassured by the doctor it is anxiety causing the terrible feelings that are occurring, these feelings can be conquered.
Because nervousness is what has amplified these feelings into the major concerns that they are, we need to learn how to control nervousness and therefore cut these weird sensations down to size.
By the same token, staying relaxed can help a person realize when feelings are being manufactured by the mind and not by the body.
When struggling with extreme nervousness, it is a good practice to use relaxation exercises daily.
There are many ways one can practice relaxation.
However, a very easy one to use is simply to lie down on the bed or couch and proceed with the following: · breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth breathing slowly in a comfortable rhythm · try to breathe slightly more deeply than you normally would · fix your mind on your body parts and imagine them as being totally un-tensed · feel your muscles relax and imagine your body parts are loose · when a negative thought comes into your mind accept it as normal and simply don't respond to it in any way · after you feel as if you've reached a good percent of body relaxation · turn all your concentration on your breathing After doing this for a while, preferably for 20 minutes to a half-hour,you will start to train your body to respond to events with relaxation instead of by tensing up and shooting adrenaline through your body.
This will lead you away from anxiousness and start to help you to overcome creating fake serious physical feelings.
Of course, this exercise will not totally immunize you against nervousness or anxiety, but it is a very important first step.
