Dog training crates can be a great help to training your dog.
Although they can aid in training, they are not meant to leave your dog in for extended periods of time.
If that was the case you should have thought of why you got the puppy in the first place if it is contained in a crate all day.
If you have a dog training crate, they are great for aiding in training.
Start off by laying newspaper down in the bottom of the puppy crate.
In case the puppy has an accident in there, it will not be a big deal to clean up.
Be sure to clean it right away, no one wants the puppy playing in that mess.
Feeding in the dog training crate is a great spot for the dog to have its own space.
After feeding the puppy in the crate, take them outside for some time to walk around on the grass and take care of their business.
Be sure to praise them for being a good puppy when they do their business outside.
This will connect a positive feeling for the puppy when you do this.
Putting a treat in the dog training crate will be a nice surprise for the puppy.
Knowing that they have a treat in there makes them feel happy.
Always have the puppy feel happy when they go in their crate.
The last thing you want to do is make them feel sad when they see the crate.
A dog training crate is like the puppies own little space.
Puppies need some alone time just like we do.
Putting the puppy in the crate while you are outside of it and they can see you, then letting them out after 10 minutes or so will show them that it is alright when they are in there, you are still around.
You never want the puppy to think that if they go in their crate, you are leaving them for periods of time.
