- 1). Turn off the power to your small motor before disconnecting the electrical wires.
- 2). Check whether the wires are connected to the terminal of the small motor with screws or are soldered.
- 3). Use a suitable screwdriver to unscrew the positive terminal of the motor, if this is the method of connection. This will usually be a small Phillips screwdriver. Slide the wire from under the screw and remove. Repeat the process for on the negative terminal of your motor.
- 4). Use a hot soldering iron and touch the positive terminal of your motor, if connected this way. Let the solder melt then disconnect the wire and remove the soldering iron. Repeat the process on the negative terminal.
