From tourism to engineering, automobile industry in Chittorgarh

The historical laden tourist destination, Chittorgarh is located in the southern Rajasthan on the banks of river Gambhiri and Berach. A must visit haunt in the desert state cover only an area of 28 square kilometer. Chittorgarh plays a significant role in curving the history of Rajasthan date back to Mahabharata. As Rajasthan is well known tourist destination across the globe, Chittorgarh is among them which make the magnificent tourist attraction.

The site of numerous combats is very famous for the tales of 'Bhim lat'. The small beautiful district not only features major tourist destination but also includes well known industries, college and universities. Chittorgarh Fort -

The Indian largest fort Chittorgarh Fort is located at a height of 180 metre on hill which cover an area of 2.8 square kilometer. A World Heritage Site was constructed by the Maurayans in the 7th century AD. Some says that the fort was constructed by Bhima of the Pancha Pandavas. Many Indian warriors had their strong hold on this magnificent fort like Gora, Badal,Rana Kumbha, Maharana Pratap, Jaimal, Patta, etc. A fish shape fort features seven gates, Vijay Stambha, Kirti Stambha, Rana Kumbha Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace, Gaumukh Reservoir and Padmini's Palace.

Kalika Mata Temple

In 8th century, the temple was primarily built for Sun God and later on it was converted for mother Goddess in 14th century temple as Kalika Mata Temple. Kalika Mata Temple is one of the most popular temple of Chittorgarh. During the festival of Navaratri, the entire temple is decorated in traditional Rajasthani style and devotees from all over the globe come to pay obeisance at the temple.

Vijay Stambh

 A huge nine story tower, Vijay Stambha was constructed by Maharana Kumbha between 1442 AD and 1449 AD. Vijay Stambha is also known as the 'Tower of Victory' as it was built to celebrate the victory over Mahmud Khilji. A 122 feet high tower with base of 10 feet, features beautiful sculptures and carvings on its outer walls. The tower is open to all but one need to climb 157 steps to have a beautiful glance of the city. You can easily see the tower from any city corner.

Kirti Stambh

A seven story pillar, Kirti Stambh is dedicated to the first Tirthankara of Jainism, Rishabha. It was built by Biherwal Mahajan Sanaya of Digambar Jain during 12th century AD.

The other are Menal, Nilodh Jeora, Ashtamata Temple, Ganesh Temple, Ghateshwar Temple, Kund Sheshashyan Temple, Shiv Temple and Kund, Sringar Chauri, Trimurti Temple, Vamanavtar Temple and Gateways.

 Despite having several engineering and automobile industries Hindustan Zinc Smelter, Minerals, Marble Machineries, Cement Plant Lafarge, heavy mechanical work, fabrication, marble machinery & crane manfacture and machineing works, but still it receive funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGF).

The district features good education infrastructure like AKC College, Mewar Girls, Government Girls's College, Navkaar Academy of Engineering, Government College, Government Polytechnic College, Vision School of Management and many more. The city also has good transportation connectivity.
