How Do I Get Rid of Mold After It Grew on the Walls Without Calling a Professional?

    • 1). Close the doors in the area you are cleaning to prevent the mold spores from spreading through the home. The cleaning process kicks up mold spores and can cause them to spread if you don't isolate the area.

    • 2). Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. White vinegar is completely natural and nontoxic. It is a fungicide and a disinfectant.

    • 3). Spray the white vinegar over the mold growth and let it sit for 15 minutes. This will give the white vinegar time to kill the mold.

    • 4). Scrub the walls with a sponge. Be careful not to scrub too hard, as you can scrub the paint off the walls.

    • 5). Rub the walls with a water-dampened cloth.

    • 6). Immediately dry the walls with a paper towel to discourage any mold spores in the air from growing back on the damp walls.
