- 1). Locate and remove the screws that are used to secure the belt cover to the snow blower with the Phillips-head screwdriver.
- 2). Pull the belt cover off the snow blower and set it aside. Examine the drive belt to see if it is worn and needs to be replaced.
- 3). Pull up on the cable boot and then fully squeeze the clutch lever to check the tension of the drive belt tension spring.
- 1). Release the clutch lever and then remove the auger pulley with the socket wrench. Pull the old drive belt off the pulleys.
- 2). Set the new drive belt into place and then reattach the auger pulley to the snow blower.
- 3). Set the belt cover back onto the snow blower and secure it with the screws.
- 4). Start the snow blower and then activate the auger to see if it now operates correctly.
