Ambalapuzza temple

It is one of the ancient monuments of Alleppey. The presiding deity of this Krishna temple is Gopalkrishna. The best time to visit this temple is during the ten day ceremonial festival in the month of Meenam (March/April). Another auspicious occasion is the twelve day Pantrandu Kalabha mahotsvam festival.

Kumarkom backwaters

This part of Kuttanad region, the Kumarkom village is a group of little islands on the Vambanad Lake. This exotic backwater destination offers interesting opportunities of fishing and boating on the traditional boats called Kettuvalloms. Kumarkom with many coconut groves, lush green paddy fields and extensive mangrove forests is like a paradise on earth. The bird sanctuary at Kumarkom is located on the shores of Vembanad Lake.
