Although late, Marcie finally arrives at Rodi?s, unaware that Michael told the server to place Marcie?s engagement ring right on top of the cake. At Vicki?s, Kelly slips up as she mentions David among her reasons for leaving Dorian?s. Surprised by what Kelly said, Vicki asks Kelly what David has to do with anything. Kelly gets out of it by saying that she meant Dorian and David, not David; and she feels like a third wheel.

Vicki offers that Kelly stay at the carriage house.

At the gym, a photographer walks into the locker room only to find Kevin ready to hit David. The photographer snaps a picture of Kevin and David, while congratulating Kevin for making the front cover of tomorrow?s Sun. After Kevin offers to pay the photographer double what he is being paid, the photographer hands the film over to Kevin.

Meanwhile, Evangeline is reluctant to go up to John?s apartment and prefers to stay in the lobby to discuss Natalie. Evangeline does not hold back and unwaveringly explains that she noticed things were intense between John and Natalie at Ultraviolet. John was unaware that Evangeline was there. After Evangeline sadly tells John, ?You care about Natalie?and she cares about you,? he replies, ?She?s my friend.? Evangeline, however, is not convinced that John is being honest with her and asks John if it is over with Natalie. She then tells John to admit that there is some kind of connection with Natalie. John looks into Evangeline?s eyes and tells her, ?Hey, you are the woman I want to be with?yesterday, today, tomorrow.?

While in the alley at Rodi?s, Natalie tries talking to Paul on Kelly?s behalf.

Paul becomes irrational and pins Natalie to the wall as she attempts to leave. Kevin arrives just in time to help Natalie break loose from Paul?s grip and forcefully throws him against the wall. Kevin gives Paul a check and a one-way ticket to San Francisco, then threatens Paul to leave town in the morning. Paul, noticeably distraught, leaves saying, ?I?m not giving up on you Natalie.? Natalie is quite shaken and concerned over Paul?s actions and tells Kevin that she needs to know what is going on. Kevin quickly warns Natalie to forget that Paul even exists.

At Rodi?s, Michael is obviously upset when he tells Marcie that she has time for everybody but him. Michael and Marcie begin to argue. Michael explains that he has been a good boyfriend and has been there for her. He slams his medical book on the table and tells Marcie that he needs to know the book cover-to-cover for his medical boards. Stunned, but looking Michael straight in the eyes, Marcie replies, ?I didn?t know that your boards were coming up, Michael.? Michael quietly tells Marcie, ?You never asked.?

Michael tells Marcie that he is excited about the things going on in her life, and he wants her excited about things in his life. Things get even more heated between them, after Marcie alludes to nothing like this ever happening with Al. Marcie walks out to spend her birthday alone, as the server brings the cake and engagement ring to the table, only to find Michael sitting alone.

Meanwhile, at La Boulet, Adriana walks in to find David holding a gun. As a cover up, David explains that the gun belongs to Dorian, but that Dorian asked him to get rid of it.

Jessica becomes angry when Tico states he is leaving for a meeting, but forbids her to leave Lion?s Heart to see Vicki. Tico makes an excuse and tells Jessica that he will worry about her driving in the rain. Lurking in the dark hallway, Tico eavesdrops on Jessica and overhears her make a phone call to Vicki canceling her visit that evening. After talking to Jessica, Vicki?s uncertainties set in and she worries about Jessica.
