How to Assemble a Bissell Dirty Water Tank

    • 1). Locate the dirty water tank's detent pedal and press it down with your foot. Tip the tank's handle back, then release the latches on either side of the tank. To remove it fom the unit, pull the latch up and out.

    • 2). Lift the tank from the base of the vacuum, and carry it over to a sink. Do so carefully, so you don't spill any of the dirty water on the carpet.

    • 3). Pour out the dirty water in the sink through the opening in the back of the tank. Rinse out the tank by running clean tap water through the vent cover, and pouring it out through the opening in the back. Repeat this maneuver until the tank is clean.

    • 4). Replace the tank into the vacuum's base, and secure the latches.
