Cher Costume Ideas

    Hair

    • To pull off the 70s look, a long, straight, black wig with the part down the middle is needed. Length should be to waistline. Adorn with headband, worn across forehead and tied in back.

For the 80s look, a long, curly black wig with the part down the middle should be used. Length should be to waistline. Another option for the 80s would be a spiky, black, shoulder-length wig.

The 90s look requires a blond, straight, just-below-the-shoulder-length wig.

    Clothes

    • For the 70s look, any combination of the following 70s-inspired looks would be a good choice: bell bottoms, butterfly collar shirt, fringed suede vest, knee-high go-go boots or a bell-bottomed jumpsuit.

For the 80s or 90s look, anything over-the-top, sparkly, tight-fitting and fashion forward would work. Black lingerie with fishnet stockings, anything sexy and sheer would have been a Cher favorite. A slim-fitting, rhinestone encrusted "Oscar"-type dress or black leather with chain-like accessories are other ideas. High heels or high-heeled boots complete the look.

    Accessories

    • For the 70s look: tambourine or microphone.

For the 80s or 90s look: microphone, chains.

Make-up should be dramatic and dark. Cher used dark shades of shadow like blues, grays and purples. Eyes should be lined with black eyeliner and black mascara. Deep red lipstick completes the look.
