The gigantic position of Apple in the current cellular market cannot be overlooked by anyone. However, as we know that the success of the company is aided by a number of outsourced companies that contributed in keeping the competitive advantage for Apple. Last year, it was the Indian IT market in the spotlight, which was given the confinement of Apple's software innovation and networking solutions. Apart from all critics in this news, it was revealed that the idea of outsourcing IT solutions proved very effective for the company in the cost cutting their networking and software development cost.
Sony is currently in the news, being affiliated closely to Apple since the last few years. Apple Inc has always relied on credible entrepreneurs and manufacturers that can join hands with Apple to lock the technological and electronic marvel in a one cell phone or tablet. Sony in this regard has been providing the Apple with high sensor cameras for Apple's iPhone and Tablet PCs. The report of Nikkei stated that Apple had the choice between Nikon and Sony to choose the camera sensor from, and Sony won the competition. Nikon is though a more pronounced name in the digital and DSLR camera industry, the position of Sony in high sensor small camera is unparallel. It is not the first time when Apple has asked Sony to provide with water proof, high sensitive and indigo color detective sensors that can be sued in the cameras for best results at night and even underwater. However, the 5 years contract between the two companies has been ended just before the launch of iPhone 5S, and Apple was free to go to either Sony or Nikon.
The report also says that the decision of Apple was not solely based on the technology of Sony but also on the current market scenario. It looks that Apple will try to takeover Sony by its merger and acquisition strategy. This is though not evident from any of the current facts, but the generous favor of Apple to Sony gives one impression for this. Also, Sony is more active in marketing and advertising than Nikon, and Apple would also like Sony to join hands with Apple in the marketing campaign of Apple 5S and other devices as well, to gain mutual benefits. Other reports from CMOS ITtechdaily say that Sony was also given the consignment of battery making for the latest iPad Air. This further illustrates the long lasting ties between the two companies, and Sony would never want the sales of Apple to drop, as Sony gets a profit share for that. The news has confirmed that Sony not receive a fixed consignment price, but also a small profit share of the total sales of iPhone, and iPad. The new mobiles of Sony also resemble iPhone 4 and 4s, and it can be noted that Apple had no problem with that. This is another point that throws light to arena of Apple merger with Sony, if not in the near future than certainly in the long run.
