- 1). Log in to your character, type "/log" and press the "Enter" key. This creates a log file for EQ2 on your computer.
- 2). Close the EQ2 game, launch your Internet browser and navigate to the Advanced Combat Tracker, or ACT, download website at advancedcombattracker.com/download.php.
- 3). Click the "Advanced Combat Tracker -- Setup" link and save the file to your computer.
- 4). Double-click the file to install it on your computer.
- 5). Double-click the new "ACT" icon that appears on your desktop to launch the program. The Startup Wizard displays on your screen.
- 6). Click "Next," then click the "Get Available Parsing Plugins."
- 7). Select the "EQ2 English Parsing" option from the drop-down menu, then click "Use This Plugin." Wait to receive a confirmation notice that the parser is applied. Click "OK," then click "Next."
- 8). Click "Yes" at the "Will ACT be used for EverQuest II?" prompt.
- 9). Browse the folders on your computer and select your EQ2 game folder. Click "Yes" at the "Detected log file" prompt.

Log into the EQ2 game on the character you wish to parse. You should now see "Log Active" on the top bar of the ACT program, and when you or your party members attack enemies in the game, the amount of damage each character does to each enemy is displayed on the "Main" tab.
