How to Save Money When You Have a Baby - 11 Money Saving Ideas

The birth of a baby brings so much joy to your life.
What's more it is a time of tremendous change.
Changes occur to your home and personal life, and equally as important, to your finances as well.
You will have added expenditure, and the distinct possibility of two incomes going to one.
All of this places added pressure on your finances.
But don't worry, we have you covered.
Follow the 11 tips below and you can relax know your finances are under control during this important part of your life.
Tip 1:  Go easy on the maternal clothes:  You can spend an absolute fortune on hundreds of different maternity clothes and co-ordinates.
Just buy a few really nice good quality ones and wear them often.
However, you are pregnant, so enjoy the occasional splurge.
Tip 2:  Cut Huggies baby wipes in half:  Huggies baby wipes are absolutely huge.
Get the most out of your money and cut them in half.
Tip 3:  Use expensive nappies at night and cheaper nappies during the day:  While some people say that there is no major difference between nappy brands we disagree.
Brand names such as Huggies seem to be superior.
To save money use the more expensive nappies at night and cheaper nappies during the day.
Tip 4:  Use shopping bags as nappy bags:  Following this tip will save you around $60 a year.
As we keep saying every little bit helps.
Tip 5:  Buy nappies in bulk when they are on sale:  Often supermarkets have nappies at below cost price to encourage you into the store.
Take advantage of this; when they are on special buy a lot of them! Tip 6:  Make your own bunny rugs and blankets:  With a basic sewing machine and cheap material from a linen or material store you can make your own blankets.
These are easy to make and inexpensive.
  Just search Google for instructions.
Tip 7:  Use single sheets in the cot:  A normal single sheet, with a quick bit of hemming can easily serve as a cot sheet.
Again look at Google for instructions.
Tip 8:  Use a pillow case for a bassinet sheet: Again with a few very minor alterations a pillow case can perfectly fit a bassinet mattress.
Tip 9:  Join chemist loyalty programs:  If you are buying a lot of baby products at a chemist or wholesale chemist then join their loyalty programs.
The points add up very quickly and you will start getting products for free before you know it.
Tip 10:  Join every baby loyalty program under the sun:  The amount of stuff you get for free from these loyalty programs can be significant.
Tip 11:  Buy cloth nappies as all purpose cloths:  Even if you don't use them as nappies they are a cheap alternative to cleaning up messes, stopping vomit from hitting your clothes and a range of other things.
So there you go; 11 tips to help you save money when you are having a baby.
  Above all have fun.
It is an amazing time and doesn't last for ever.
  The occasional splurge is ok!
