- 1). Raise the hood of your 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix and rest it on the support rod.
- 2). Remove the bolts securing the headlamp assembly using a socket and ratchet. The 2002 Grand Prix has two bolts located on top of the headlamp assembly.
- 3). Pull the headlamp forward, away from the front of the car. Raise the plastic retaining tab on the wiring harness connection and disconnect the wiring harness. Once you raise the tab, the wiring harness connector will pull straight back.
- 4). Turn the retaining ring a quarter-turn counterclockwise and pull it back out of the headlamp assembly. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket. Insert the new bulb into the socket and press it into place securely.
- 5). Insert the bulb and socket into the headlamp assembly and turn the retaining ring a quarter-turn clockwise to lock it into the assembly. Raise the retaining tab on the wiring harness connection and press the connector into place. Press the retaining tab down when the connector is secure.
- 6). Replace the two bolts securing the headlamp assembly and tighten them with a socket and ratchet. Repeat the process on the opposite side if necessary.
- 7). Close the hood of your Grand Prix and test the headlights to be sure they are functioning properly.
