Leno and Hasselbeck-Victims of Conservative Cleansing

Although long time NBC €s €Tonight Show€ host Jay (The Chin) Leno has never been accused of being a right-wing zealot, compared to the late night mouthpiece of liberal-leftism, sleazey Dave Letterman, Leno has been described as a virtual Barry Goldwater mainly because of his post-election, audacious but humorous criticism of President Barack Hussein Obama.

On the other hand, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the lone, proud voice of conservatism and by far the most attractive co-host on ABC's far-out liberal €The View€ - is a recognized righty who has been under attack for years for expressing her usually-conservative viewpoint.

Coincidentally, authoritative rumors have it that Leno will be dumped by NBC when his contract is up next year and that Hasselbeck will soon be banished by ABC, not, of course, because of their political views. NBC plans to replace Leno with Jimmy Fallon in order to attract a younger audience and ABC announced its move was designed merely as an effort to €freshen€ the show and perk up ratings.

As FNC's Greg Gutfeld joked on €The Five€, €Clearly [Leno] pushed it too far. The network will send him to a reeducation camp for required therapy.€ Gutfeld also suggested €that Leno should poke more fun at Sarah Palin if he wants to keep his job.€

True to their politics, as noted by Mediate.com, €In a spectacular display of ignorance, matched only by unjustified arrogance, a panel of guests on CNN on Friday afternoon declared the longest running late night talk program in history, The Tonight Show, irrelevant. Furthermore, the panel guests continued, Jay Leno has intentionally abandoned his edge and is generally unloved.€

That nasty dig was contradicted by Leno's ratings - up 20% in 2012 with 3.9 million viewers. Leno also remains the favorite of the 18-49 demographic set, far ahead of CBS' nasty, old, repetitive Letterman.

According to the New York Post, Hasselbeck is actually being dumped not for freshening purposes but €because her conservative views clashed with the audience€ and despite protestations of €The View's€ major doma Barbara Walters to the contrary. Without naming names, the Post reported that €Some enemies she has on the show saw their chance to get back at her.€

A fundamentally decent guy, Leno has carryied on in Johnny Carson's bipartisan tradition of needling both parties while the NBC big wigs want to kneel at the liberal-leftist altar and turn €The Tonight Show€ into a carbon copy of Letterman's Obama-worshipping show. He'll get the last laugh when he appears on Fox opposite Letterman and Fallon and beats their ratings-pants off.

As for Hasselbeck, she'll do just fine free of the venomous presence of her unidentified chief enemy on €The View€, Whoopi Goldberg. Cro-Magnon Woman had to resent Elisabeth for the fact she more closely resembled a human being than Whoopi.

Leno recently quipped in his monologue, €You know the whole legend of St. Patrick, right? St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland€"and then they came to the United States and became NBC executives.€ Obviously, some also went to ABC and CBS.
