Suffice it to say I had been in a LONG term relationship with someone I expected to last forever.
We were engaged..
..
and had been together for just about 7 years when he simply left.
No note.
No fight.
He just waited for me to go to work one day...
came home, took his stuff, and vanished.
To make matter worse..
..
he moved IN with one of my best friends..
:-) To say it was a bad few weeks, would be the understatement of the century! I really thought this relationship was the definition of true love.
But when I started to inspect it, outside of the confines of emotional pain and devastation,

I began to see that the relationship had been flawed and failing for a long time.
It wasn't EVER really true love per se..
..
and that's why we had waited so long to get engaged, and plan a REAL life together.
It was comfortable, and fun at times, and loving in many ways as well...
but I think we BOTH knew it wasn't true love.

And we BOTH would have "settled" for less than we really wanted if we stayed together much longer.
It took me a long time to realize that...
and the betrayal hurt for longer still, but had I NOT lost that love, I never would have stumbled on the real thing years later! Filed Under: Finding True Love Once and For All My story is a bit different...
