Jail

Nicole has just learned she has a visitor and hopes it's Brady, but it turns out to be Rafe. She tells him to leave her alone. He admits that he's hoping she has Sydney. Nicole mentions how weird this is, since he did everything in his power to take Sydney away from her. He demands for her to tell him where Sydney is. "For the last time I don't know where Sydney is!" she exclaims, expressing how agonized she is over losing everything.

She admits that she wants to die, believing that's what she deserves.Rafe says otherwise.

Nicole warns Rafe that if anything happens to Sydney, it's as much on him as it is on her. She insists that nobody could love Sydney as much as her, and now she's gone because Rafe just couldn't let it be. Rafe deduces that Nicole is blaming him because she's scared. She begins to believe he doesn't want Sydney found. Rafe counters that it's all he wants and cares about.. Nicole warns him that when Sydney is found, Sami and E.J. are going to bond like mad over it. Rafe doesn't care who is going to bond with whom, affirming that his concern is Sydney. He begins to leave, but she tells him to wait and wants to tell him something.

In Stefano's jail cell, he flashes back to Elvis telling him to go live his wretched life in peace, right after E.J. tried to strangle him. Stefano comes back to reality and calls for a guard, demanding his phone call.

Java Cafe

Philip and Melanie are together. Nathan arrives and sees them laughing and having a good time, then walks right by.

Philip suggests that they go ice skating, remarking how she's bound to cheer up watching him fall on his ass. He also suggests Christmas caroling, wishing Nathan Horton hadn't sucked the fun out of everything. Melanie admits that she hates holidays because she has to pretend to be cheerful when all she wants to do is hide in a corner until it's socially acceptable for her to be depressed again.

Philip brings Melanie another coffee and asks her to go ice skating. She doesn't think she can and apologizes for ruining their date. He admits that even when she's grumpy and moody, he likes being around her, saying she makes him happy. She proceeds to go get takeout for Maggie and decorate Christmas cookies. He asks what she's doing for Christmas. She encourages him to go spend Christmas with his family, believing he's lucky to have one.

K Mansion

Vivian and Victor make a toast with homemade egg nog. He is still wearing his sunglasses and notes that his drink is heavy on the Bourbon. She wipes it off his lips just as Kate arrives and remarks how Victor really has lost his mind. Kate notices the bruises and sunglasses on Victor. "Don't tell me she's abusing you already!" badgers Kate. Vivian clarifies that it was a skating accident. Victor states that Kate's not welcome there. Kate says she came to see Philip. She wonders why Philip would want to be there with Victor and Vivian cavorting and pretending to be lovers. Vivian claims she and Philip have reconnected. Kate counters that Philip isn't Viv's son. Vivian refers to Kate as cruel and hurtful for marrying a man who tried to kill Philip. Victor implores the ladies to try and stay in the holiday spirit and not be so bitchy. The ladies argue again about Philip before Victor excuses himself to get more egg nog. Vivian rubs it in how she carried Philip around in her womb for nine months. "You stole my son! You took my embryo!" rehashes Kate. Vivian raises her glass and smirks how it's the season. "Tis the season to kick your butt to the curb," threatens Kate. Victor states that there will be no butt kicking in his house. Vivian brings up how all of Salem is all a twitter with the fact that Stefano is behind bars.

Kate is surprised to hear that her husband's in jail. Vivian remarks how strange it is that Stefano didn't use his one phone call to let his darling wife know. Vivian gloats how she'll have a Merry Christmas since she's back with Victor and her "darling son" Philip. "You mess with my son, you'll deal with me. And I don't play nice," warns Kate. Vivian affirms that she'll protect Philip from his mommy dearest with her life if she has to. Philip arrives home and asks what's going on.

Kate begins to talk to Philip, who tells her to just stop. He begins to leave, and Kate offers to go with him. "You're not going with me anywhere Mrs. DiMera!" responds a bitter Philip. Victor encourages Philip to stay, insisting Kate's the one who should leave. Kate says she came by to see Philip because she misses him. Victor sarcastically remarks how she probably cries on Stefano's shoulder day and night. Philip refers to all of them as disgusting, recalling how someone recently told him how lucky he was to have a family. "Lucky you haven't killed each other or buried someone alive," he rehashes.

Salem's Drug Dealer

E.J. arrives home at the mansion and is on the phone. He sees Troy in his living room. Troy warns him that their little drug pusher, Arianna Hernandez, is going to be a problem.

In Arianna's room, Brady wonders how she's supposed to find out who Salem's main supplier is if she can't even get a shipment. She says it's time for a new approach and begins to make a phone call. She phones Troy and claims she wants to help with the delayed shipment, trying to convince his boss to meet with her. Troy offers to run it by his boss. Afterwards, he asks E.J. how he wants to handle it.

Brady worries about Ari putting her life on the line. She reminds him that she agreed to go undercover, saying she would be in prison right now otherwise. She embraces him. Brady assures her that if her plan doesn't work out, he'll come up with an alternative. She sees that Troy is calling. Troy tells her to go to Pier 37 and be there in ten minutes, warning her to show up alone. Brady insists that he's coming with Ari.
