Among all continents in the world, Europe is probably the easiest one to travel, as it is, excluding Australia, the smallest. The transportation system in the entire continent also makes the travel more convenient, not to mention many European tour packages are available today. But touring Europe is still not exactly a walk in the park. Like in any travel, deciding what to do and where to go is still a major headache for those planning to go around this continent.
For those who are confused, here are a few suggestions on what parts of Europe deserve some exploring.
Cultural Exposure
Above anything, Europe is known for the rich history and culture that it possesses. Because it played important roles in the progression of human civilization, Europe and its major countries are teeming with landmarks and historical sites that are of great relevance and curiosity. If you are coming by car from the UK, you can make a stop in a hotel calais before continuing your trip to France.
If it is ancient structures you're after, there are plenty of wonderful ones in the United Kingdom. In London, you can find the prehistoric Stonehenge; in Scotland, there's the Iron Age House and the Midhowe Broch. Medieval buildings are meanwhile plenty in France. Stay in a hotel reims or any nearby city has and you are bound to spot a lot of old towns that are filled with buildings built during the Roman Empire.
Culturally, the best place to go to is still Paris. Find yourself a paris hotel and start appreciating the Parisian art and culture by going to important sites like Montmartre. Italy also has some of the world's most culturally important cities. There is of course Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and Venice, the romantic City of Water.
Great Outdoors
Not to be left behind by the sceneries and natural landscapes of other continents, Europe also boasts of certain outdoor attractions. The Alps, for one, is becoming a favored place for tourists during the summer. A visit in Austria is your best bet if you wish to fully appreciate the beauty of this great mountain range.
The European coasts are also not to be ignored. In northern France, the sandy beaches are beginning to gain popularity among tourists.
The woods are also quite interesting in Europe. In Slovenia, over half of the territory is covered with forests that are rich in biodiversity. The Black Forest in Germany provides a fascinating landscape of rolling hills and lush vegetation as well.
