For the past 25 years of coaching and counseling thousands of people all over the world, I have come to know how critical it is to do the introspective inner work and healing.
Allowing ourselves to heal and grow is an act of love.
Fears, not feeling good enough, self-sabotage are indicators of the stuff we carry around from the past, because when we had experiences that were upsetting and confusing, we lacked an exit valve to express and resolve our thoughts and feeling.
So we held them in our bodies, our mind, and in our hearts in order to survive.
What is unresolved from the past separates us from who we really are, our connection with The Divine, and blocks the happiness, love, success, peace...
we desire and long for.
When people ask: How do I get rid of this...
pain, fear, situation? What is the quickest and most effective way to stop feeling, doing...
? Or say, I thought I was done with this! They feel: Frustrated Anger (mostly at themselves) Judgments Resentments Not good enough Scared Anxious Nervous Depressed Ashamed I shake my head with love and compassion.
That's the language of fear and pain.
You might be feeling frustrated, unhappy with where you are, angry about your life and with yourself,...
good.
The fears, blocks, pain struggles are blessings because they are showing what is asking to be healed and released that is often unconscious.
Sometimes we shift when we have a new awareness or a change in perspective.
Sometimes the message is unclear or buried inside which is why digging deeper reveals the answers and the pathways for healing to occur.
Do you love and welcome these gifts when they show up or do you judge, resist, blame, get angry and frustrated, and fight against those feeling which only gives them more power to hang around and impact your life? What you resist, persists.
I've been working with Marianne Williamson's new book, "A Course in Weight Loss: 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Forever" which is an answer to a prayer because it shined a light on the next step in my own transformation and healing.
I have been using food to manage a lot of unresolved feelings from the past...
until recently.
Dealing with weight has been the one specific area I have felt like a failure despite working numerous tools and powerful healing modalities.
Nothing seemed to change my pattern of emotional eating.
Over the years, I have put on more weight which only added to my frustration and upset.
Last month I gifted myself with quality time to work with Marianne's book, rolled up my sleeves and dug deeper into my feelings and stories from the past that were bubbling to the surface, all filled with pain, anger, and deep grief.
I have been literally, wearing my pain on my body! Actually, I was surprised at how much sadness I had been holding onto in my heart and in my body for decades without consciously realizing it! This process of embracing the shadows and pain within myself has been a humbling and joyful experience of self-love and compassion.
That's the key.
We heal and release experiences by walking through them not around them.
Trying to get rid of unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with quick fixes and techniques that manage rather than release them are temporary band aids.
Choose to use these feelings and situations to create breakthroughs and restore alignment with your natural state of love and power.
You cannot heal pain and move forward absent of love, forgiveness, and compassion.
Whatever grand idea you have for an ideal life, pales in comparison to the vision God has for you.
I firmly believe that we cannot truly have the life we came here to live without God's love, guidance, and support.
And if your work and passion is to help others live a rich and full life, you must do this work so that you be a guide for others.
Life is a journey of courage - to boldly go where you might want to avoid so you can free yourself to truly live and prosper.
To create a welcoming place to raise your consciousness, know your value, claim your Divine POWER and life your life purpose.
Life is not a race.
Transformation is a process not a technique.
You cannot outrun yourself.
Wherever you go, whatever you do, you take your baggage with you.
Your experiences are opportunities for you to grow and evolve as an individual and collectively with the world.
There is no end to your growth and evolution.
Each next phase of growth and expansion may reveal additional healing for greater alignment and expression of who you really are.
When you do the work and difficulties arise, you are able to move through them with more grace and ease.
When you resist you will only create more suffering and struggle for yourself.
You are meant to flourish and prosper! We often needed to be to be reminded of the work it is time to do now to reach the next phase of our life.
Surrender to each moment with an open heart and mind.
Embrace life as it shows up remembering that each person and situation is there for a reason - to help you grow and evolve and become the person you are meant to be!
