How to Treat Ash Anthracnose

    • 1). Clean the soil around the ash tree of fallen leaves. Bag them and destroy them.

    • 2). Cut off dead and diseased branches to rid the tree of spores.

    • 3). Water the tree slowly and deeply when there has been no rain for three weeks, and fertilize it in the spring with a balanced tree fertilizer.

    • 4). Spray the ash tree with a fungicide containing thiophanate-methyl or chlorothalonil. The ideal time to spray the tree is at bud break. Apply the spray at the rate specified on the label and according to the directions. You may need to repeat the application.
