- 1). Lay out the foam crown molding on a couple of sawhorses. Paint the molding with high-gloss paint. Painting the foam molding is much easier prior to installation than after installation. Let the paint dry for two or three hours.
- 2). Apply construction adhesive on the back of the foam corner pieces. Stick the pieces on the corners of the walls. If necessary, use a piece of painter's tape to keep the pieces in place while the glue dries.
- 3). Measure the length of the wall between the corner pieces with a measuring tape. Write the measurements on the length of foam crown molding. Use a hacksaw to cut the molding to the appropriate length.
- 4). Apply construction adhesive to the back of the length of the crown molding. Push the molding into place on the wall. Use painter's tape to keep the crown molding in place while the adhesive dries.
