Save Space With Futon Beds

Futon beds have evolved as its use spread from Japan over to the Western world.
It's no guess why it became popular; a sofa or chair that becomes a bed...
what could be more convenient? Now you can find them not only as sofas or chairs, but underneath bunk and loft beds, as well! Originally, they were very simple mattresses and quilts that folded out of the room in the daytime; a bedroom was a public living room.
Then came a platform beneath the mattress; bare slats of wood.
Nowadays, if you walk into a furniture warehouse, it's fascinating how far the futon bed has come.
The frame of sofas and chairs can be from wood, or metal for a more modern look .
It may be built with armrests, and may come with underneath storage.
Modern futon sofas are upholstered in leathers and other fabrics to accent your existing decor.
Futon bunk beds are great Japanese inspired space savers.
They give you two beds plus a sofa, in one small bedroom, using no more floor space.
The upper bunk is a regular bunk, while the bottom mattress transforms from sofa to bed.
This mattress is often the size of a full, offering even more sleeping space.
Evolution takes us further, though: the futon loft bed.
Basically like the bunk bed, yet built either in an L shaped frame, creating loft space beneath the top bunk, or the bottom futon bed itself is removable! No doubt, you'll find the perfect futons style for your home.
