Most businesses lean towards outsourcing from the Philippines as a means of improving their business, considering the quality of work that needs to be done, as well as financial interests. For some who are not familiar with what outsourcing is all about, it's simply hiring people outside of the country, usually free lancers or in-house employees, to perform specific non-core or important tasks for the company. Ten years ago, only huge companies outsource, like BPOs and call centers, to handle tasks such as customer service, technical support, chat and email support. Nowadays, even individuals and small time entrepreneurs; consider outsourcing as a way of improving their business.
One obvious, yet important benefit in outsourcing is that it's cost saving. Hiring employees within the United States may not be as inexpensive as hiring free lancers or in-house employees who are able to perform tasks the same way. There are millions of free lancers and in-house employees who have degrees and are very willing to work for people abroad. Most of these employees are being paid an hourly rate and earn from $200 to $500 per month depending on their tasks. This may be quite low for employees in the United States but for a Filipino, this is definitely a dream come true.
The Philippines is one of the many countries that companies or individuals abroad look for outsourcing, other than India and Costa Rica. Filipinos are known to be highly intelligent and can speak fluent English just like any American. There are millions of Filipinos who are very qualified and yet are being paid minimum salaries in Pesos but compared to working as in-house employees, they earn much higher or even earn double than what they earn from local and corporate jobs. This gives employers flexibility since they can hire people from the Philippines who can do non-core yet important tasks and pay them only when these tasks are met and avoid the burden of permanent financial responsibilities. So, they don't have to worry about making sure that these employees have an office where they can work on, since they can work at home and complete their tasks without these complications.
Outsourcing may sound complicated to those who are new in the business because they worry about the quality of the work done by these free lancers and in-house employees. Since outsourcing means assigning tasks to people from different countries, then, it'll be a challenge to ensure that they perform the tasks that are assigned to them efficiently. One way to get rid of this uncertainty is to ask your in-house employees to send you a tracker of their accomplishments on a daily basis or whatever was agreed upon by both parties. Some use management systems which can be a very effective tool in managing your in-house employee's tasks and keeping track of their productivity.
The business world is now faced with hurdles that can affect its growth and success. Outsourcing is definitely an option that we should consider to achieve efficiency and productivity at a much lower rate.
