8 Steps to Clean Your Dog"s Ears

Dog ears are prone to infection therefore ear care should be one of your every day grooming routine.
Checking for signs of irritations or infections is must to prevent damage to dog's most important faculty-hearing.
Here are the steps on how to clean your dog's ears: 1.
Prepare everything you need: soft cloth towel, absorbent cotton, cotton swabs and pet ear cleaner.
Dog's ears are very sensitive so it's really advisable to purchase a cleaner specially formulated for cleaning dog's ears.
2.
Dogs normally don't like their ears touched by someone.
It would calm and relax them if you give your dog a little ear massage first.
3.
Get him in a comfortable position.
Have him lie on his side or sit next to him and put his head on your lap.
4.
Soak a cotton ball in ear cleaner solution but don't forget to squeeze out excess liquid.
5.
Gently clean rub the inside skin of your dog's ear up and down.
Do this gently and patiently clean as well as you can.
6.
Don't apply force when you feel some resistance.
Stop and carefully massage the ear part to relax him once more.
7.
Should you see something that needs to be removed down from your dog's ear canal, it's better to have professionals to do that for you.
8.
At the end of a gruesome task, remember to give him the hug and treats he deserves for being an accommodating pet.
And most especially, a very honest praise for being a good dog and for not gnawing your hand! Cleanliness is always a sign of good health.
So, let's get down to business!
