This creates bad habits in the bedroom.
If you want to perform better and delay ejaculation during intercourse, you need to practice delaying ejaculation when you masturbate.
Also, I found it easier to stay relaxed during sex when I masturbated a couple of hours beforehand.
I suppose doing so helped relieve the pressure and buildup, so that I was able to maintain an erection longer in bed.
