Student Projects at School Fundraiser

    Student Films

    • Student-produced films can help to make your school fundraiser an event that the whole community will come out to see. Students can focus on various aspects of a typical school day or select several students, teachers and other staff to focus on in a video diary style documentary. Your students may also opt to develop a comical film with "characters" presenting a somewhat warped view of the school. It important that any humorous portrayal or students and faculty be lighthearted in nature.

    Musical Compositions

    • Music is another possible area in which to develop a project for a school fundraiser. A student can independently put together a project where she creates a musical composition related to something she is studying in school. For example, she could develop a humorous song about historical figures she is learning about in her social studies or history class. As a more serious song on a topic, she can look at a charity that her school is involved in, like feeding the hungry.

    Art Projects

    • Those students with a love of drawing or painting may prefer to create art that you can place on display at your school fundraiser. This can consist of individual works like paintings or sculptures, or it could be a single large group project, such as a wall mural celebrating the history of the school or highlighting local landmarks and attractions.

    Science Projects

    • Science can, for some, be boring an uninteresting. Developing science projects that show how "cool" science really is a great way to attract the interest of members of your community. A collage of printed high-resolution photos students take with a camera-mounted telescope would work well. Alternatively, a social science project can provide the perfect opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge in areas like archeology, geology or meteorology, either with 2-D printed presentations, boxes of samples or constructed dioramas.
