Do you want to start or improve your online business? Then buy this book and do what author Jim Kukral says. In a couple of days, you’ll be in business – really.

This is the simplest, least technical approach to business that I have read. Jim capitalizes on the beauty of online business – that things can be tried and adjusted as we go. He suggested tools and services that he uses himself, and he explains both how to use them and how they have been used.

Pros

  • Jim focuses on the “how-to” of making money – with tons of relevant case studies.
  • The suggestions for tools and services don’t require tons of learning and studying. The recommended tools and approaches will get you up and going fast.
  • The book reads like a friendly email. Nothing pretentious – just solid down-to-earth advice.

Cons

  • Count on losing a full morning of work. If you’re like me – you won’t put it down until it’s finished.
  • You won’t be able to get any work done in the afternoon either – there’ll be too many ideas and things to follow up on from the book.

Jim establishes by a series of case studies that Attention marketing does, in fact, work. And it’s not very hard, and it certainly isn’t expensive.

If you have a business or are thinking about starting one – you need to get this book.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. I run a muffler shop / beauty salon / consultancy / {insert your industry here} and I don’t think these principals will work in my type of business. The fact is, and the point is made very strongly in the book, that they will work. All it takes is a commitment of time (and this book).

With case studies to prove each point and suggestion, Jim makes it clear that every type of business can get revenue-generating attention.

Written in the same comfortable way that Jim speaks, it feels like Jim is sharing some advice over a coffee and doughnut. The chapters are varying length and there are 71 of them. It’s pretty unusual for a marketing book. But then again, this isn’t your usual marketing book.

The one tool that Jim favors for attention getting is online videos. If you’re like most people, you’ve seen a few videos on YouTube, but didn’t see the connection between those clips and effectively marketing your business.
