Since then Powerball jackpots have gone as high as $590.5 million, and Pennsylvania has sold seventeen jackpot-winning Powerball tickets - a higher percentage than most other states.
Powerball gives you nine ways to win cash prizes with the jackpot starting at a cool $40 million and growing until someone wins! The game is operated by the Multistate Lottery Association (MUSL) in Des Moines, Iowa.
Powerball has quickly established itself as the premier jackpot game in Pennsylvania's lottery arsenal, boosting annual PA lottery revenues from $60 million to $100 million annually, approximately 40% of which are set aside for senior citizen programs including two drug assistance programs PACE and PACENET, reduced public-transportation rates, and property tax and rent rebates. Currently, the Pennsylvania Lottery is the only state lottery in the nation that exclusively targets all of its net proceeds to programs for older residents. The rest of the money goes toward lottery operation costs and prize money for participants.
