Requiem for a Dream (2000): This adaptation of Hubert Selby, Jr.'s novel is one of the most harrowing depictions of heroin addiction put on film, showing the slow decline of three addicts (Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Wayons) as well as what happens when an older woman (Ellen Burstyn) gets hooked on diet pills. The film's unrelentingly bleak ending makes it tough viewing for some, but its visual style and strong performances also make it a riveting look into what can happen when addiction spins out of control.
"Requiem for a Dream" is not a movie for everyone. It is the essence of independent filmmaking, a daring, engrossing, artful film that stays with you long after you leave the theater. Hollywood bubblegum this ain't.
Jared Leto and crew are great in Requiem for a Dream. This is a Darren Aronofsky movie, and while the director has since moved on to bigger films like Batman, this movie showcases his talent and his original style of directing movies. This is a very serious subject matter (drug addiction), and the way he presents it is simply haunting.
Did you Watch Requiem for a Dream (2000) Online? Receiving bad quality movies from those illegal websites? All annoying viruses, Trojan horses and mall ware which fake downloads contain? I guess you are also more than done with it.
The best thing about this movie is they remind us of the true experience of love and how magical it can be. Even though they tend to romanticize things, there has to be an element of truth in them or else people would not be able to relate. They are a great form of escape that allows us to connect with real love at the same time.
