- 1). Prepare the torso. The cast will cover your body from the top of your breasts to the bottom of your belly, so you'll need to remove your top and maybe fold down your pants a little. Spread petroleum jelly all over the exposed area (to keep the plaster from sticking to your skin), then find a comfortable spot to sit, as the process will take some time.
- 2). Cut the plaster tape into various-sized strips, 6 to 12 inches long. Dip a strip in the warm water, being careful not to let it fold and stick to itself. Remove the strip after a few seconds and wring out any excess water by flattening the strip between two fingers. Smooth the strip across your breasts.
- 3). Repeat with the other strips, working your way down your body. Use longer strips for the base of the cast, and shorter strips to fill in areas you missed. Have someone assist you with this step because the plaster will dry quickly. Once you've finished covering your body, let the plaster dry.
- 4). After about 10 minutes, have your assistant carefully grab the edges of the cast and wiggle it off your body, being careful to lift it in one piece. Wipe the petroleum jelly off the inside of the cast (anything left will eventually dry out on its own). Place the cast in a dry, cool spot for two days, to fully dry out.
- 5). When the cast is completely dried, use your fingers to apply a light layer of spackle to the cast, to fill in any craters. Let dry, and use sandpaper to smooth out any bumps. You may need to repeat the spackling and sandpapering a few times to get a perfectly smooth cast. Use a scissor to cut the edges of the cast into smooth lines.
