Lower Scores Must Mean You"re Putting Better

It wasn't until I realized that putting makes up 43% of the game that I began to shave strokes off every round I played.
Just think of the par threes.
It's a fact that your putter on the par threes makes up fifty percent of the strokes.
If you shoot an 82, then you putt about 32 or 33 times.
This accounts for more than 40% of the strokes for your round of golf.
Doesn't it make sense that this is probably the easiest way to shave 4 or more strokes off your game just by practicing a few golf putting tips.
I was one of those golfers that thought I could spend a little money and solve my putting problems just by buying another new putter.
I've done that about 4 times and it wasn't until I really focused on my putting that I started improving my score.
Several golf putting tips that have helped me putt better are: 1.
Visualize the ball going into the hole.
Look at the edge of the cup and keep your eyes there instead of on the ball.
2.
Prepare on the practice green to get extremely confident by sinking at least 2 or 3 consecutive 6-7 foot putts.
Practice getting the correct distance.
This is especially helpful for long putts.
Try visualizing the strength needed to roll the putt by hand and then duplicating that strength into the putter head.
3.
One of the most important parts of the putting stroke is the few inches before and after hitting the ball 4.
Make sure you are very comfortable with your current putter.
5.
Read golf putting tips in magazines and watch videos online.
Keep trying them until you find some that work consistently for you and go for it.
6.
On long putts, it might be better to think of having to putt to a bucket and end up close to the hole.
There are many other great golf instruction tips you can find online and at bookstores.
Just by realizing that by getting better at putting, you'll cut strokes off your game.
If you want to enjoy and play better golf, you have to be willing to get better at this aspect of your golf game.
