Teeth grinding is also commonly known as bruxism.
This problem often happens oblivious of the person's knowledge and mostly during the sleep.
It can also occur in the day but is very rare, at least in the beginning.
Later, if it is left untreated, it can become almost constant problem.
The very normal cause for this problem is the stress.
When people sleep with tension boiling in their heads, their jaws tend to clench and the grinding begins.
A lot of times grinding takes place because of bad dreams.
There are other causes of this condition as well but these are the most common ones.
The most often problems this condition causes are muscle ache, toothache, jaw ache, headache and tiredness.
A more enduring effect would be the damage done to your teeth.
On occasion this condition can be so severe that the person suffering from it will almost totally grind his or hers teeth.
Your teeth can also become very vulnerable to the hot and cold food or drinks, although not good use this symptoms and start treatment as soon as possible.
To stop teeth grinding in sleep, there are a couple of things that can be done.
One is to use a mouth guard at night.
The device protects your teeth, basically mouth guard will disable contact between your upper and lower teeth, thus effectively protecting them from grinding.
Using some method for relaxation like meditation, listening to music or yoga will decrease the tendency towards this disease.
Also avoid stimulating drinks which contain caffeine, caffeine will make you nervous and increase your stress levels, also it is best to avoid chewing gums and hard, rubbery foods.
