Firefighters, emergency medical technicians and first responders perform highly skilled rescue and medical services, often putting themselves at risk to help others. There are a variety of emergency training programs and resources available nationwide. - FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness offers an exhaustive list of specialized training courses in emergency response. CDP's classes are provided year round, and are geared toward professionals in varying fields, from law enforcement officers to medical workers and administrators. Sample course topics include: hazardous material training, basic agricultural emergency response, field force extrication tactics, incident command, pandemic planning and emergency hospital training for mass casualty incidents. CDP's training is OSHA compliant.

cdp.dhs.gov - Emergency Training Solutions provides rescue, hazmat and firefighting programs designed for the continuing education of active duty fire emergency professionals. ETS's courses are delivered via downloadable PowerPoint presentations, with some courses available through onsite training and seminars. Programs include responding to hybrid vehicle incidents, high pressure airbags, vehicle extrication, hazmat awareness, forcible entry, building construction and use of protective equipment. All of ETS's courses are written or conducted by experienced fire professionals.
