- The diameter of conductors for coaxial cables range from 0.028 inches for the RG-6 to 0.048 inches for the RG-11 A/U. The diameter of the insulation ranges from 0.18 inches for the RG-6 to 0.29 inches for the RG-11 A/U.
- The conductor for coaxial cables appropriate for CATV are made of copper with an outer conductor made of tin copper braid and aluminum polyester tape. The exception is the RG-11 A/U cable, which has a tinned copper conductor with a bare copper wire braid outer conductor.
- Coaxial cables for CATV have an operating range between 50 MHz and 900 MHz. The signal loss for these cables ranges from 3.3 dB per 109 yards at 50 MHz to 24 dB per 109 yards at 900 MHz.
