A well-designed kitchen starts with a plan for arranging kitchen appliances in a way that the kitchen space is efficient and looks organized. Kitchen electrics for daily use can actually take up a lot of space. Blenders, mixers, toasters, can openers, food processors, slow cookers, pressure cookers and other appliances cannot all be placed on the countertop as they will limit your usable counter space. Here are some ideas on organizing electrics for a spacious kitchen.
To begin with, designate a space just for regular-use kitchen appliances. There are different places you can choose from, like placing blenders or toasters on the countertop for easy reach. For a clutter-free look, bundle cords of appliances using twist ties, rubber bands or specially-designed cord clips. You can also color-coordinate these clips, so you know which clip belongs to a particular appliance.
Another great idea is to store small appliances in lower cabinets. These cabinets usually have more clearance for larger items and can take the weight of heavier appliances. Leave the upper cabinets for food and dishes that are used more frequently than appliances.
Organize small kitchen appliances in cabinets according to how frequently they are used. Some electrics, like slow cookers, blenders, waffle makers and sandwich presses are not used that often and can go in the back of the cabinet.
You can also store small appliances in the pantry, if you have one. For reach-in pantries, the lower and upper shelves are the best places for appliances. For walk-in pantries, you can dedicate a whole wall or part of a wall to storing appliances.
Utilize the space between the upper cabinets and the ceiling. This space is often unused, but quite large. Try to limit this space to newer-looking and attractive electrics, as they will be in full view.
Consider installing an appliance garage to organize your small appliances. An appliance garage typically fits in a corner of your countertop beneath the cabinets, allowing the entire corner to be used to store appliances. A roll-down door hides the appliances neatly.
A unique way to make your kitchen look spacious is to incorporate white kitchen appliances. White kitchen appliances can brighten the room, giving it a fresh, clean appearance. White appliance finishes range from pebbled and matte to sleek and glossy, offering alternatives for a range of decor styles.
Make your kitchen look organized and spacious using these simple ideas.
