Planting Tiger Lily Seeds

    • 1). Prepare seed starters or small containers for indoor growing. Fill each container halfway with potting soil. Add water to soil prior to adding seeds. Make sure that soil is completely damp but not too wet.

    • 2). Plant between two and three seeds to each container. Tiger lilies grow well in tight groups so multiple seeds in one container is fine. Add just enough damp soil that the seeds are completely covered without burying them too deeply in the containers.

    • 3). Water tiger lilies daily. These flowers thrive on damp soil. Be careful not to overwater the seed starters, especially when the plants are young. Too much water can drown the plants, causing premature death.

    • 4). Transplant the tiger lily plants to a garden or flowerbed once they begin to produce flowers. The best seasons for outdoor planting are the spring and the fall for most regions in the United States.

    • 5). Water the tiger lily plants regularly to keep the soil damp. Fertilization is not necessary, but the soil should always be damp to keep the flowers healthy.
