Stop Getting in the Way of Yourself and Have the Success You Want

You are like all of us and are the biggest obstacle to your own success.
You project blame on to others for failure to achieve what you want when the fault lies with you.
You also stop at boundaries that you fear.
If you crossed them it could lead to the biggest contribution to your growth and development.
The good news is that if you can recognise this and take it on board then the fault is all yours.
This is good news as it is much easier for you to change yourself and manage that process than it is to change other people.
It is inside you so you can have control.
Get yourself out of the way of yourself and you will motor towards the success you want.
Think of anything important you are trying to do but currently feel you are making no progress.
Consider the reasons for your failure so far.
What comes up? Often it will be someone else preventing you or you being unwilling to do something because you fear something.
I want you think really hard about whether another person is preventing you from doing what you want or if a clearer explanation is that you are unwilling to do what is necessary to get what you want.
This is a tough but powerful step.
If you can describe the obstacle in terms of what you are unwilling to do you can then start to address the causes of this inertia.
As you grow and develop you build your own worldview.
This is a set of theories of how the world works.
It is pretty rigid and gets firmer the older you get unless you intervene.
When you are set a challenge or want to achieve something you are guided by this worldview to arrive at an answer immediately.
It either gives you confidence and you go get it or it becomes a barrier and prevents you from succeeding.
These theories work best when you can blame someone else.
You are all about protecting your view of yourself so will avoid pointing the finger at yourself when someone else will do.
It is in fact much better to point the finger at yourself and challenge the worldview you have.
Look closely at the reasons you give for not being able to do something and challenge all the assumptions within those reasons.
If you do so you will find better assumptions for you and often a way of getting yourself out of the way of yourself.
When crossing your boundaries seek to do so safely at first.
If you fear something then confront it on a small scale in a safe environment and demonstrate to yourself that what you fear does not happen.
You can then take it on in real life and it will be the best source of growth and development for you.
Get yourself out of the way of yourself to achieve the success you want for yourself.
