    Student-Participation Floats

If you're looking to get the student body involved in the homecoming parade, this type of float is definitely the way to go. Student-participation floats showcase a particular school group. The group can be as large as the junior class or as small as the chess club. Allow students to decorate the float to show off their group's pride, and encourage them to include some sort of homecoming flair, as well. During the parade, members of the group should participate by riding in or on their float.

    Live-Action Group Floats

The main goal of a float should be that it is fun for the parade viewers to see as it travels the parade route. I's not important that all floats be fancily or expensively decorated. Live-action floats are a great option for homecoming parades; they involve a group of people riding in or on the float who put on a show of sorts. This type of float is most easily done by performing groups like a cheerleaders, dance squads, glee clubs, or school bands, but can also be achieved by individuals or other groups that can organize a similar type of show to perform on the float. Decorations can tie in with a performance theme or the group's uniforms, or any other theme the group chooses.

    School Spirit Floats

    Crowd-Participation Floats

    • Crowd participation floats are great for parades that attract a lot of viewers. This type of float involves components that require the audience to react and interact with the float or people riding on the float. Types of crowd participation float activities include, throwing freebies to the crowd, school song chants and sing-a-longs. These types of floats are especially amusing for students and small children.
