How to Hit Even the Most Ambitious Sales Targets - Even If You Are a Brand New Sales Person

If you are in any kind of professional sales role you will understand the pressure of hitting your sales targets.
In this article I am going to reveal how you can hit even the most ambitious sales targets even if you are brand new to the selling profession.
1) Break It Down - Have you ever heard the saying 'success by the inch is a cinch and by the yard is hard'? This is so true in sales, if you try and look at the big target you can get overwhelmed and discouraged very easily, I know I have been there.
The thing to do is to break your sales target down into daily, weekly and monthly figures.
For example if you have $12,000 worth of sales to make in 12 weeks, that means you have to make $4000 each month, which equals $1000 per week and $200 per day (assuming your work a 5 days) week.
By simply focussing on your target of $200 per day and ensuring you hit this figure you know that you are guaranteed to hit your overall objective.
2) Quantify you activities - What I mean is this, if it takes you 4 customer meetings to make 1 sale of $100 then you will need to do 8 meetings a day to stay on track with your goal of $200.
This is what is known as working out your conversion rate.
It could be that you send emails, make telephone calls or literally knock on peoples' doors.
You need to work out the amount of specific activities required to hit your target.
3) Punch through the target - A secret that all successful sales people know is this, you never try and hit a target, one should always aim to go straight through it.
So using the example above we have worked out that 8 meetings a day enables us to make our daily sales quota of $200.
Well it follows that if you take10 to 12 meetings a day you should see resulting figures of $250 - $300 per day.
I suggest you sit and read these three steps a few times and then do some simple planning.
