- 1). Click "Start" and then click the "All Programs" icon.
- 2). Click "Accessories" and then right-click the "Command Prompt" option from the list of programs.
- 3). Enter your administrator password into the field that appears on the screen. Press "Enter" to open the command prompt.
- 4). Type "sfc /scannow" in the Run box, and press "Enter."
- 5). Wait for the scan to complete. This will take up to an hour to complete. You will be prompted onscreen when the scan has completed.
- 6). Click "Restart" when prompted. When your system restarts, the file will be replaced with an updated version and the error will disappear.
