Fun Bar Candy Gifts to Make

    Design your own

    • A wrapper to fit a standard sized flat candy bar such as a Hershey bar should measure 5 ¼ by 5 ¼ inches. Open a Word Document and create a box this size. Create a second box measuring 2 by 4 ¾ inches. Center this box inside the first box. This second box will be the front of your candy bar wrapper. Insert graphics and a message of your choice. Add background color, borders, or anything else you like. Print out your design, cut it out and fasten to your candy bar.

Place your wrapper over the existing candy wrapper. And fasten with a small piece of adhesive tape.

For a candy matchbook, start with fun-size packages of M&Ms, mints of Skittles. Measure the smallest side of your candy package and add ½ inch. Now measure the length of the candy package and add ¾ inch. Draw a box this size in Microsoft Word and insert a design of your choice. Print the results on stiff paper or very thin cardboard. To make a matchbook, fold up the bottom ½ inch of the narrow side of the paper. Then bring the top edge down to meet the bottom of the fold and crease. Open and staple your candy at the bottom fold. Close and tuck the free end under the fold like a matchbook.

To make a candy bar bouquet, attach candy bars to lollipop sticks. You may decorate them with personalized labels or ribbon. Fit a Styrofoam square or ball into a vase or small basket and arrange the lollipop sticks in the Styrofoam. Tuck moss, shredded paper or even Easter grass in the top of the container to hide the Styrofoam. Attach a card and deliver to your favorite sweet tooth.

    Download free designs

    • A number of websites offer free directions for customized candy wrappers and free downloads of designs for all occasions.

You can also download images intended for free greeting cards and adapt them for use as candy bar wrappers.

For snack-size candy bars, print your wrapper on a peel and stick label instead of paper and stick it right over the existing label.

Your imagination is your only limit for what you can do with candy bars. Your gift will be appreciated by any candy lover in your life.
