- 1). Thin the plants once they are established so they are spaced 7 to 10 inches apart. This ensures that the remaining plants have enough room and nutrients to grow.
- 2). Cut off the flower stalk to slow down the death of the plant and allow for a longer harvest.
- 3). Harvest the leaves when the plant is 4 to 6 inches tall by cutting them off. Continue harvesting them throughout the growing season.
