- 1). Open your Internet browser, and navigate to the online dispute section of the Equifax website (see Resources).
- 2). Look at your Equifax credit report, if you have one, and enter the credit report number in the first field of this form. Skip this field if you do not have an Equifax credit report. Fill in the fields for your personal information. Click "Submit."
- 3). Select a single answer for each of the multiple choice questions presented to you by Equifax. These questions are used to verify your identity before you can access the dispute center. Click "Submit" once you have completed the answers.
- 4). Click "Negative Information." Click the "Dispute this item" link next to the account once you find a problem.
- 5). Check the reasons you are disputing this account, and click "Add Dispute."
- 1). Open your Internet browser, and navigate to the online dispute section of the Experian website (see Resources).
- 2). Obtain a credit report from Experian if you do not already have one. You can get a free Experian credit report from annualcreditreport.com or by clicking the denied credit link. You can also use a purchased credit report from Experian or from Experian's credit-monitoring subscription.
- 3). Click "Log in" to log in to your credit-monitoring account if you have one. Click "Yes, I have a credit report number" if you have requested your credit report from the other Experian services.
- 4). Type the report number and your personal information on the provided form. Check the boxes under the form, and click "Submit."
- 5). Click the "Potentially negative" link to go to the negative account section. Click on the link for the negative account that you wish to dispute. Click the link labeled "Dispute this item." Check off the reasons you are disputing the account or type your own reason. Click "Submit your dispute."
- 1). Open the TransUnion dispute center homepage (see Resources), and log in to your TransUnion account. You can register for an account on this page if you do not already have one.
- 2). Click "Credit Report" in your user control panel.
- 3). Click "Report Inaccuracy." Choose the "Submit Dispute" button. Look through the list of accounts provided on this page until you find the one you need to dispute. Click "Request Investigation" next to that account. Check the reason you are disputing the account, and click "Submit."
