- 1). Insert the Windows XP installation CD into your computer and restart it. Press a key on your keyboard when prompted to boot from CD, then press "Enter" to go to Windows Setup.
- 2). Read the End-User License Agreement on the subsequent pages and press "F8" to agree to it. You will not be able to proceed with the reinstallation of Windows XP without agreeing to these terms.
- 3). Delete the existing partition that contains your previous installation of Windows XP or other Windows OS. Highlight the partition using the arrow keys and press "D," then "Enter," to delete it. If none exists, skip this step.
- 4). Highlight the Unpartitioned Space and press "C" and "Enter" to create a new partition. Highlight the partition you just created and press "Enter." On the next page, highlight "Format the partition by using the NTFS file system" and press "Enter."
- 5). Wait for the computer to format the partition and reload Windows XP. This process can take up to an hour, so feel free to do other things during this time. When the computer reboots, you will need to answer several prompts to customize your Windows XP experience and complete installation.
